Happy is the one who finds the courage to let go of what cannot be changed.

Letting Go of What Cannot Be Changed

Abandoning people who do not love us, places that suffocate us, situations that harm us, and memories that haunt us is an essential survival strategy on our journey. Time is one of the most valuable things we have, especially in today’s fast-paced world.

Jumping from one commitment to another, striving to hold onto what we have achieved through great effort—always running, never stopping…

That’s why our time is incredibly precious. Once we set aside the hours dedicated to work and responsibilities, what remains should only be spent with those who truly deserve it.

To avoid wasting precious time, we must let go of everything that brings only pain, wounds us, and continuously disappoints us.

In other words, we must let go of what cannot be changed.

Let go of the false illusion that one day someone will change, that they will wake up and recognize your worth. Abandon the hope that they will alter their behavior—if they haven’t done so over the years, they never will.

Those who truly want to change do not need to be begged day after day. In reality, very few people change, and it is never the good ones who hurt others.

People who are accustomed to causing harm only love themselves.

Let go of love that exists only because of you, where the other person refuses to change or acknowledge it.

A relationship cannot survive without reciprocity and mutual effort.

A love that must be begged for is degrading—it brings nothing but pain and emptiness. True love does not allow this; it recognizes your need for tenderness and attention. An empty echo means nothing, and you deserve so much more.

Walk away from friendships that lack loyalty and respect.

Just like romantic relationships, friendships require mutual support, trust, and transparency.

Do not force people to be your friends. Do not humiliate yourself for those who do not even remember you exist.

Above all, be your own best friend.

It is not easy to let go of people we love.

Even when they seem to do everything to hurt us, even when they never offer love but only show the face of their selfishness.

It is not easy to leave behind places that once made us happy, even if today they suffocate us, filling the air with poison.

No, it is not easy—but it is necessary.

For our survival, for finding peace again, for regaining hope.

Beyond all this pain, there are real people waiting to be met, places yet to be discovered.

Let us not deprive ourselves of these opportunities. Let us learn to leave behind everything we cannot change and that does not bring us happiness.
