Discover Lukova and Ksamil, two enchanting places in Albania – considered the Maldives of Europe – ideal for summer vacations, writes Daniela Caruso in an article published in the Italian magazine “viaggi.nanopress.it”.
Albania is one of the most popular destinations in recent times. Even in the summer of 2024, it will be the “queen” of holidays for Italians, and not only.
Furthermore, in this country, you will discover two wonderful places considered the “Maldives of Europe”: Lukova and Ksamil.
Both of these coastal villages are located on the Albanian Riviera.
Albania, a Country Waiting to be Discovered
Lukova and Ksamil are defined as the “European Maldives” due to their truly enchanting landscapes. You can have an affordable vacation here: keep in mind that you will spend only 25 euros per night for the cheapest accommodation.
In the summer of 2024, Albania seems to be one of the most favored destinations for Italians and beyond.
In fact, the Balkan country has set a record in the tourism sector, welcoming 9.5 million foreign visitors.
Albania recorded an increase of 33.2% compared to the previous year: a very significant figure, considering this Balkan country has only 2.8 million inhabitants.
The reasons to visit Albania are varied. This destination is very close to Italy and can be reached by ferry at an affordable cost – compared to the more famous European countries – which are also much more expensive.
Additionally, Albania is characterized by beautiful, clean beaches and delicious, low-cost food.
The European Maldives: Discover Lukova and Ksamil
Two pearls of Albania, called the “Maldives of Europe”: Lukova and Ksamil, are among the country’s main attractions.
You can start your journey from Saranda, the “tourist capital” of Albania, characterized by white sandy beaches and a crystal-clear sea.
Lukova is located near the island of Corfu and the Blue Eye – a water spring, natural phenomenon, and tourist spot declared a Monument of Nature.
Meanwhile, Ksamil is famous for the emerald waters that characterize its surrounding sea and for the rocky islands nearby – which can be reached by boat or by swimming.
During the summer months, Saranda and Ksamil are very crowded with tourists, so we advise you to plan your holidays during periods with fewer tourists – so you can enjoy the beauty of the landscapes, beaches, and the climate and atmosphere present in these resorts.
